Due to an assembly change to Canlet®’s Vapor Proof fixture,
please be advised that a double tube compact fluorescent
(CF) lamp no longer fits in our 18 Watt and 26 Watt
fluorescent fixtures.

The recommended lamps for the 18 Watt and 26 Watt
fixtures would be a triple tube compact fluorescent (CF)
lamp, with either a G or GX24Q-3 lamp base, with an
overall length of no more than 5 inches.

Following are recommended Osram Sylvania’s triple tube
lamps:

18 Watt: Part Number CF18DT/E/827 (or equivalent)

26 Watt: Part Number CF26DT/E/827 (or equivalent)

Hazardous Location listed fixtures

    Canlet^® non-metallic Vaporproof Fixtures are listed for UL and CUL approved Class I, Div 2 Groups A, B, C & D hazardous locations.

Generally, a Class I, Div 2 location is one where ignitable concentrations of flammable gases, vapors or liquids are not likely to exist under normal operating conditions. Group A refers to acetylene, Group B to hydrogen, Group C to ethylene, and Group D to propane.

Class I, Div 2 locations also tend to be adjacent to Class I, Div 1 locations. Special testing and labeling is needed in case hazardous concentrations develop as a result of leakage, spillage, or failure of the ventilation systems.

The determination of Class I, Div 2 locations on any project is the responsibility of the engineer, code authority and/or industry expert. There is no additional charge for Class I, Div 2 labeling. Just order any Canlet^® complete vaporproof fixture (wall, ceiling or pendant mount) with a heat-treated globe option (on Price List: Code 11, 14, 15, 16 or 17) and the Class I, Div 2 labels will be added automatically.

In addition to Class I, Div 2 Canlet^® Non-Metallic Vaporproof fixtures are available in Class II, Div 2, Groups F and G.
